India is referred to as “the world’s fruit basket.” India is fortunate to have ideal soil and climate conditions that support the growth of vegetables, grains, lentils, and other crops in addition to fruits. Mangoes, bananas, papayas, oranges, apricots, grapes, strawberries, apples, guavas, litchis, and many other fruits are grown in India. As a result, India’s fruit exports have increased during the past few decades. In 2018–2019, India exported over 372213.73 metric tons of fruits.
